How to delete account
1. How to Request Cancellation
Users can request the permanent closure of their SioShipping account and exercise their "Right to be Forgotten" through two channels:
- Automatic procedure (Self-Service): By accessing your user panel, navigating to the "Account Settings" section, clicking on "Delete Account" and confirming the operation.
- Written request via email: By sending a specific message to the dedicated address support@sioshipping.eu. The request must come from the same email address associated with your SioShipping account. For security and data protection reasons, our team reserves the right to request identity verification before proceeding.
2. Processing times
- Processing: Requests sent via email are processed by the support team within a few business days.
- Permanent deletion: Once the process has begun, the account and its active data will be permanently deleted or anonymized within a maximum period of 30 days, in accordance with the terms set by the GDPR. The user will receive notification of the deletion at the end of the process.
3. Effects of Data Cancellation and Removal
Deleting your account is a permanent and irreversible action that involves:
- Data Removal: The permanent deletion of all personal data, user profiles, preferences , and login credentials from our active systems.
- Loss of History: The inability to access shipment history, past tracking, and associated documents.
- Recommendation: We strongly recommend that users download all necessary invoices and shipping receipts before confirming the cancellation, as they will no longer be recoverable.
4. Data Retention for Legal Obligations
In accordance with Article 17, paragraph 3 of the GDPR, SioShipping cannot immediately delete all data if there are specific legal or regulatory obligations. Only the data strictly necessary for the following purposes will be retained in a secure and isolated archive:
- Tax and accounting compliance: Invoices, financial transactions and billing data will be retained for the minimum period required by applicable local tax regulations.
- Legal protection and dispute resolution: Certain operational and contractual information may be retained for as long as necessary to handle any chargebacks, open disputes, or fraud investigations.
- Anonymized data: Aggregated usage metrics and statistical data that cannot be traced back to the users identity in any way may be retained for internal analysis and service optimization.
5. Limitations and Temporary Suspensions
The deletion request may not be completed immediately or may be temporarily refused if:
- The account has outstanding financial liabilities, unpaid invoices, or negative balances.
- There are shipments in transit, orders not yet delivered, or unfinished customs procedures that require profile management.
- The account is currently under internal investigation for suspected violation of the Terms of Service or fraudulent activity.
